Facebook update from Help Anton

Day +135 Today has been a much better day. Anton woke up around 8:30am, he was happy and seemed to feel better. Dr. Tolar came in with one other doctor and I got to ask him all my questions without 100 other doctors being in the room. Okay, we have never had 100 doctors in the room but sometimes it feels that way. Anton got a blood transfusion last night because his hemoglobin dropped down to 6. Dr. Tolar thinks it was a false number because it dropped so much from yesterday and he isn't bleeding from anywhere. They do blood work every morning so we will see what it is tomorrow. Some of the results have come back form the biospies they did on Anton's stomach. Anton doesn't have Graft vs Host in his stomach which is great news but he does have adenovirus. He is on antibiotics for the adenovirus and for pneumonia. We also had a very special visitor from a nurse who works at the hospital who is from Russia. She talked to Anton in Russian. It was so neat to watch them interact. Anton didn't understand what she was saying but it was fun to watch. The nursing staff here is so amazing, it is neat to see how much they all love Anton. They have been bummed out because Anton has been so sick the last few days. Now that he is feeling better a few of them have come in just to say hi. Then Dr. Tolar came back in because Anton drew a picture for him. Dr. Tolar walked in the room and Anton yelled "SURPRISE " and then gave him the picture, it was so cute. Dr. Tolar of course loved the picture. Anton has only recently starting drawing people and the picture he drew for Dr. Tolar is the best he has ever done. Dr. Tolar stayed in the room and played with Anton for a while. They dug in the bucket of Anton's stickers with a shovel, and rake. Anton told Dr. Tolar again that he wanted to be just like him when he grew up. I think we have a good plan going for Anton's care and I'm glad we finally have some answers. - August 08, 2015 at 02:28PM http://ift.tt/1r2lUi4
