Meet the Delgados

Jason and I met at church in 2002 and were friends for a few years before becoming best friends. Jason liked me but I only wanted to be friends.

I was doing a Bible study with a friend from church and noticed a Mothers Day gift that her husband and kids made for her. It had a few pictures on it and there was a verse from Proverbs 31. I thought and prayed to myself, "Lord, it would be so cool to marry someone like that someone who would take the time to make a gift like that for me. " And that was it, I didn't really think about it much after that.

A few months later Jason gave me a Christmas gift and told me not to open it until I got home. So I waited until I got to my uncles house (it wasn't too far from my house :) ) and I opened it. Jason drew me a picture and on the back it had Proverbs 31:10, "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." I started to cry and I told my family, "He would make the best husband, I just don't like him." Then I turned it over and he had drawn a picture of a woman looking down and the scripture on the front was Proverbs 31:30, "Charm is deceitful and beauty fades away but a woman who honors God she shall be praised." It was such a beautiful picture, my husband among many other talents is a great artist.

It was such a sweet gift and I loved it! A few weeks after he gave it to me I started to think about what I had prayed before about wanting a husband who would take the time to make a beautiful gift with Scripture on it for me. I started to pray and ask the Lord if it was His will that I married Jason would He please change my heart because I wasn't attracted to him and I didn't like him like that. We became best friends not long after that and we did everything together. I even helped him move. And it was while helping him move that for the first time I looked at him and thought, "Wow, he is cute!" With in a few months I was completely attracted to him and really started to like him more than just a friend. So we started dating in May of 2004 then got engaged July of 2004 and we were married on March 5th, 2005.
We have now been married for 6 years and I can honestly say I would marry my husband all over again. Jason is a computer programmer and enjoys playing soccer. I have the privilege of staying home with our kids.

Kenya is our first born baby who is now four years old! She is learning so much everyday and I am amazed by her desire to keep learning more. She has just started to read and loves trying to figure out how to spell words. I just love her. She loves playing dress up and has spent the last few weeks being  Rapunzel. Kenya has a pet fish, lizard and frog. She caught the lizard and frog herself.  Kenya loves her brother and spends lots of time playing with him. She is such a joy to be around and I am so glad she is my daughter!

On November 11, 2008 Jason and I welcomed our beautiful baby girls Melody and Madison into the world. The were conjoined and shared a liver and a heart. We knew at our 19 week check up that they had a zero chance of survival but we knew that God was the one forming our babies and he would be the one who decided when they would leave this earth Psalm 139. Our daughters lived for an hour after birth and we were so blessed to get to spend a lot of time with them. We mourned and still mourn but it is with hope knowing that we will get to see them again. If you have ever lost a babySafe in the Arms of God is an amazing book that gives a biblically defense to why babies go to Heaven.

Judah is all boy. He loves playing soccer (we train them young ;) ) and swinging outside. One of his favorite things to do is wrestle anyone who will let him. He is learning new things everyday. He says Mama, Dada, Sister, ball, dog dog, more, help, all done and Pa Pa (passie). He can sign all done, please, help, share, more, milk, eat, drink, fish and night night. He LOVES to eat and I pretty sure he eats more than a grown man. He loves his big sister! Every morning when Kenya wakes up Judah runs over to her holds his hands in the air and says "SISTER" and waits until she picks him up. It is so cute! I love my boy and really enjoy watching him grow up

Jason and I are in the process of adopting a baby from Eastern Europe. We can't share a whole lot but we do have an adoption blog that we try to update with new information. We look forward to the day we are able to bring our sweet boy home! It is our desire to glorify God with our lives for from Him and to Him and through Him are all things! Romans11:36
