Facebook update from Help Anton

Day +138 Anton woke up to the amazing surprise that he nurse snuck some glow sticks into his wraps while he slept. This was a great thing to wake up to. Anton threw up as soon as he was fully awake. He also did this yesterday. He is still having tons of diarrhea even though he isn't getting any feeds. He had a fever again today. After his tummy got settled we did a dressing change. Anton's wounds are finally starting to close after several weeks of being open. Anton got to ride the trike again in the hall with his super great physical therapist. We love her and she is the only one here I will let do therapy with Anton. I'm sure the other ones are great too but we like her so we are sticking with her :) today he went 25 feet all by himself!!! We of course had to go find Kendall so Anton could hang out with him. Kendall is one of the charge nurses on the floor and Anton wants to be just like him when he grows up. Kendall and Anton had a glow stick fight against Anton's nurse "swiper the fox". Then Kendall had to go to a meeting so we went on a walk with our friends from the BMT floor. Kendall came back and Anton helped him work. Anton also has a light saber battle with Dr. Paul. Anton feel asleep at 6 pm after hanging out in the halls for 2 hours :) Even though Anton continues to have fevers he is feeling pretty good throughout the day so I'm thankful for that. Kisses for Kaitlyn is a little girl who was also on the BMT floor when Anton had his transplant. I had gotten close to her mom and loved getting to see Kaitlyn walk around the halls of the BMT floor. I couldn't wait for Anton to get healthy enough to do the same. A few months ago they found out her cancer had returned and there was nothing more the doctors could do. We were all heartbroken. She fought hard and passed away last night. Please be praying for her sweet family. My gut reaction to so much loss lately is to harden my heart and not get close to anyone else but that's not the answer. The death of a child should hurt, it should make us long for heaven. We live in a broken world and this place is not my home. I will continue to love others, get close to these families, and mourn when their children die. Why, because they are worth it. If you have never heard the gospel or have never repented of your sins and put you full trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation please read this http://ift.tt/1IEuZHW none of us are promised tomorrow. - August 11, 2015 at 06:49PM http://ift.tt/1r2lUi4
