EB and adoption.

I am part of an EB community on FB and I have learned a TON about EB from that group. There are several families who have adopted their EB children so we have a separate group to support each other.  One of the Moms Trisha already has a son with EB and they were in the process of adopting a boy named Seth who also has EB. She flew to meet him for the first time a few weeks ago and well things did not end as they had hoped. Please go read her update and pray for their family. I bawled like a baby reading what happened. I know her family could really use all the love and support they can get right now. HERE is the post. 

EXCITING ADOPTION NEWS!!!!

I am praising God and rejoicing more than words could ever express... OUR ADOPTION IS FULLY FUNDED! God is so amazingly faithful! Thank you to everyone who has supported us by praying for us and by donating to our adoption fund.

More exciting news WE GOT TO MEET BABY A!!!!!

We left our house at about 6am on November 26th to drive 4 hours away so we could fly out of Houston Airport. We have heard amazing things about Singapore Airlines and they were a lot cheaper then all the other airlines so we decided to drive there and back so that we could get a better price and a direct flight to Eastern Europe.

 We were so excited to start our long journey to get to meet our boy (I am wearing my seat belt even though for some strange reason it doesn't look like it).

Here we are getting ready for take off.

I loved getting to watch where our plane was at and see were we were headed. Singapore Airlines is AMAZING. They brought us a hot towel before every meal so we could wash up, they gave us a travel bag with socks, a tooth brush and tooth paste, earphones and we had TVs in front of our seats where we could watch movies, watch TV shows, learn other languages or play games! 

The food on the plane was really good too! 

We left on a Saturday at 2pm and got there on Sunday at 4pm. We went straight to our host families apartment and hung out with them for a few hours before bed. Our host family was so super sweet and we are so blessed they asked us to stay with them! I'm not sure if they want us to put their names on here so we will call them Mr. and Mrs. D. Mrs D cooked amazingly tasty meals every night in fact I was so inspired that once we got home I started cooking a lot more :) Mr. D had us cracking up the whole time and their boys are Kenya and Judah's ages so we had a lot of fun playing with them! 

I hope to do a post a day for everyday we were there. Tomorrow's post will be about our very first visit with Baby A!!! 

This is beautiful!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile we have been super busy and I just can't find the time to blog right now.

 I did want to share a video with you guys of a surprise adoption. 

It is beautiful and will most likely make you cry like a baby! 

Apostilling we will go Appostilling we will go...

Kenya and I took a trip to Austin on Monday to get some more things apostilled for our adoption. She was so excited to get some alone time with Mommy and I loved getting to hang out with just her for 2 days.

The first part of the road trip was AWFUL! It was raining and there were times when I couldn't even see the road. Ms. Kenya slept the first half of the trip which was nice because I was trying really hard to focus on driving and nothing else.

I tried to take a short cut to get to the highway which ended up adding at least 30 minutes to our trip. Then our GPS took us the wrong way and then had us do a u-turn at the next exit which added about an hour to our trip because there was so much traffic.

Once it had stopped raining and traffic cleared up the rest of the trip was nice and easy.

We stopped at Rudy's BBQ  about 2 hours out and I just have to say I LOVE their food. It is by far my favorite BBQ ever!

And here is our food. Loaded baked potato with meat YUM, corn on the cob, turkey and 2 root beers!

This church is pretty close to the Secretary of State's office and I think it is beautiful!

We were in the office for maybe 5 minutes they called us up printed the apostilles, stapled them to our paperwork and we were off.

Kenya took this picture and did a pretty good job I thought.

Our photo shoot in front of the capital did not go well. The pictures were turning out awful then I realized Kenya was standing in the shade and the capital was in the sun so once I moved her into the sun it helped the lighting a lot. At that point though she was done taking pictures so this is the best we got ha.

Kenya was so excited to get to see her family in Austin! This is Uncle Toe Toe and one of her cousins Anisa. 

And here is a shirt I got for our soon to be (well maybe sometime next year) Texas Cowboy!

Over all it was a great trip. I loved spending time with Kenya and visiting with family in Austin.

Super Exciting News... (Adoption Update)

I have some very exciting news.... WE RECEIVED OUR TRAVEL DATES for our first trip!!!!! Now before you get too excited let me explain what this trip is. When we go to Eastern Europe this time it will be to meet Baby A and officially commit to his adoption in Eastern Europe. We will not have court this trip and we will not be bringing him home this trip. But I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to know we are going to finally get to meet our BOY!!!!  I have thought  about this day non-stop for almost 9 months I can't wait to love on Baby A! We are not going to be sharing our travel dates but I will say we will be going before the end of the year!

After this trip we will come home then we will have to wait two or three months for a court date. Once we get a court date we will go back to Eastern Europe to adopt Baby A. Once we are approved in court there is a ten day waiting period before we can take Baby A home. We still have a long way to go but we are getting so much closer!!!

Please be praying for a safe trip for us and that Baby A will not be freaked out by us being there. I am so hoping to get some amazing cuddle time with our boy but I know the reality is he might not want a whole lot to do with us. Either way I just can't wait to be in the same room with him!!! Please also be praying for some paperwork that we are trying to get for court. The wording has to be done a certain way but so far it hasn't been done exactly right so please be praying we could get this taken care of quickly.

AHHHHH SO EXCITED!!! Adoption Update!!!! -Update on the update :)

UPDATE... I found out that our dossier is finished being translated and will be submitted to the Ministry of Education soon!!! I am so excited and I will update y'all once it's submitted!!!

I just found out the office that accepts dossiers is back open!!!! As soon as our dossier is finished being translated (I thought they were done with it) then it will be submitted and we should get a travel date not too long after that. I will not even try to guess timing on this because I have been wrong every time but I am so excited right now we can move forward again!!! WOO HOO! God is so so good! 

Adoption Update

We have made our adoption blog private until the adoption is finalized. It was a really hard choice to make but we felt like it was the best one for our family. I will be updating you all on this blog instead of the other one.

I know a few people were concerned because we had recently gotten a big dog. I just wanted to let everyone know we will not have the dog once we bring Baby A home. He is either going to go back to his original owner or my Mom is going to take him. If you hear anyone expressing their concern please let them know we will not have him for much longer.

Our dossier is in Baby A's country and is translated but we can not move forward because the office that accepts dossiers and sends out travel dates is closed for an unknown reason and for an unknown amount of time. We just have to wait until they reopen to move forward. There is nothing we can do until that happens. Please be praying they reopen quickly so we can travel to meet our boy :)

That is really all that is going on at this point. Thank you guys so much for following our adoption journey and thank you for praying for us!

What: toddler bed, stroller, stove, couch with a pull out sleeper, lots of clothes, toys and many many more things you just can't live without

All proceeds from the sale will go into Baby A's adoption fund.

Happy Mother's Day!

I try not to get on the computer on the weekends so here is my Mother's Day post a day late.

A few days before Mother's Day we had the kids make pictures for their grandmother's.
 Don't tell Wita cause she hasn't gotten hers yet ;)

After church we went over to my Mom's house. She wasn't feeling well so I didn't get a picture of her but here is a picture of my Uncle Jack playing the guitar. 

This is my older sister Brandi with my nephews Blake and Dilan they just moved back to Texas and I could not be more excited. I walked into my Mom's house and my nephew Dilan yelled "HAPPY TEXAS DAY AUNT NESSA!!! oh and Happy Mother's Day." Dilan is one of the sweetest kids I have ever been around he would walk around the house then come back to me and say "hey Aunt Nessa... I love you." I was great! 

Now if only Patrice would move here I would be one happy girl. Oh and in case you haven't heard Patrice won Mom of the year so thank you to everyone who voted!

We mailed off our USCIS paperwork today and I am SOOOOOO EXCITED about that. I will post a more detailed post about in on our adoption blog so click here if you want more details if not just know this was a super exciting step in bringing our boy home!

home study update

Check out our adoption blog for an update. Normally I will just update the adoption blog and not post it on here but I just wanted to send out this little reminder :)

On a side note...

Thank you to the person who was looking out for us and told me our bio talks about us adopting. I just wanted to clear up what I meant when I said we can't talk about it. Here is what we are not allowed to do... we can't say where he is from, what his name is and we can't post a picture other then that we are good to go. I will be keeping up with the adoption blog so y'all can join us on this journey I just wont post any of those things above.

Please Read! New New Plan

I just found out that we have to stop talking about pursuing Baby A until we have been approved by a social worker and have an official commitment to his adoption. The reason is it puts him on a "virtual hold". Thank you all for your understanding. I am new to all of this and I want to make sure we are doing things right!


If you have posted a blog about us being his parents or about us trying to adopt him please take it down ASAP. We don't want to do anything that could jeopardize anyone's chances of getting him.

Since the beginning we have said we don't want to compete for the Baby. We love him and would love to adopt him but it is our desire to see him adopted into a loving family who will teach him about Jesus even if it's not ours.

I hope all of this makes since.
